The Official Summer Series Standings for 2019
A simple and fun way to determine how all teams stack up against one another
It's very simple and straight forward. It takes some of the great things about the teams, and some of the not as good things, and then divides them by the amount of games played.
It allows fans, and teams to compare one another, without basing the results on physical skill. For example, if a team works hard together and racks up a lot of assists, they may rank higher than a team who doesn't have as many assists, and turns the ball over frequently.
How It Works
Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocked Shots - Turnovers -(Field Goals Made - Field Goals Attempted) - (Free Throws Made - Free Throws Attempted) / Games Played
To summarise, All the points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks that a team has is added up. We then take away the turnovers by the team. After, we subtract away the amount of Field Goals made from the amount of Field Goals attempted, which is almost always a negative number. We then do the same with the Free Throws. After this is all subtracted, we divide the total by the amount of games played. This allows us to give teams equal opportunity to be placed at the top, regardless of how many times they've hit the court during The Summer Series.
